Ryan Gravilla
Principal – Creative Studio
Ryan leads the Creative Studio at SPRK Lighting, bringing nearly 30 years of high-stakes lighting design, creative direction, and production leadership to the team.
His career began in 2000 at Walt Disney World, starting as a lighting technician at Pleasure Island and culminating in an eight-year tenure as Principal Lighting Designer for Disney Live Entertainment. Over 22 years with Disney, Ryan designed hundreds of global shows, major park activations, and award-winning nighttime spectaculars. His signature portfolio includes Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular aboard the Disney Fantasy, Epcot’s iconic Candlelight Processional, and both Rivers of Light and Tree of Life: Awakenings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Ryan holds a BFA in theatrical design from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and has designed and led creative direction on projects across theme parks, cruise lines, theatre, and special events worldwide. In 2023, he joined SPRK to lead our creative and design team from Lexington, Kentucky. Driven by communication and collaboration, Ryan bridges storytelling with real-world execution to build lighting experiences that move people.
